Mini Baskets

The last quick and easy gift for November is handmade mini baskets. They are decorative, useful, and are perfect for gift giving! How many baskets do you have at home? I know I have quite a few and can always find a use for them! I have a basket for laundry, one for fruit, a basket for my napkins, small baskets to hold trinkets on my desk and still more small baskets for small items in the bathroom such as dental floss, pony tail holders, hair clips etc........ Small handmade baskets are a handy item to have and it seems you can never have enough!

Mini baskets not only help you organize, but they make great gifts and party favors! You can give them as a set, fill the baskets with small gifts items, and use them to hold gift cards or candy. Just think of the possibilities!

Here we go a skein, fresh off the hook:

These crochet baskets are great for crocheters of all levels, since they are made using a basic single crochet stitches. They can be made with all different yarn fibers, different yarn weights from Dk to Bulky yarn and in one color or a nice variegated yarn.

This Mini Basket pattern has instructions for different yarn weights:

#5 Bulky yarn, such as Premiere Yarn Canyon Colors was used for the baskets in the photo below or any Bulky #5 yarn should work.

#4 Worsted weight yarn, such as Premier Yarn Basix or Red Heart Super Saver yarn. The baskets in the photo below were done with two strands of yarn held together.

#3 Dk yarn such as Stylecraft Special Dk or Scheepjes Colour Crafter Yarn. The baskets in the photo below were done with two strands of yarn held together. (DK yarn baskets are not as sturdy as the baskets made with the bulky or worsted weight yarn, but they make great decorations!

I hope you enjoy this quick and easy Mini Basket pattern!

Have a hooky day! Lynne
