Materials: US Size G/6 (4 mm) crochet hook, yarn needle, scissors, tape measure

Size: 4 ½” (11.43 cm) x 4 ½” (11.43 cm)
Abbreviations and Stitches (U.S. Terms): beg – beginning, ch – chain, dc – double crochet, rep – repeat, sp(s) – space(s), st(s) – stitch(es)
Notes: Ch-3 counts as a stitch. Coasters
are made with two strands of yarn held together.
Instructions:
With 2 strands
of yarn held together, make a magic circle
Rnd 1: Ch 3, 2 dc in the circle, ch 2, *3
dc in the circle, ch 2; rep from * 2 more times, join to beg ch-3. (12 dc, 4
ch-2 sps)
Rnd 2: Ch 3, dc in the next 2 sts, (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in the corner ch-2 sp, * dc in the
next 3 sts, (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in the corner ch-2 sp; rep from * 2 more times, join
to beg ch-3. (28 dc, 4 ch-2 sps)
Rnd 4:
Ch 3, dc in the next 6 sts, (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in the corner ch-2 sp, *dc in
the next 11 sts, (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in the corner ch-2 sp; rep from * 2 more
times, dc in the last 4 sts, join to beg ch-3. (44 dc, 4 ch-2 sps)
Fasten off, weave in ends and for best results block.
