Ethereal Beanie

Yarn Bee, Ethereal Eyelash yarn (5oz, 180 yds). Colors used #01 Ivory and #08 Muted Jade. (each beanie takes 1 skein of yarn)

Materials: US Size 7 (4.5 mm) crochet hook, Yarn Needle, scissors, tape measure

Difficulty: Easy

Size: 22” (55.88 cm) to 23” (58.42 cm) circumference

Gauge: 13 dc x 7 rows = 4” (10.16 cm)

Abbreviations and Stitches (U.S. Terms): BPdc-Back post double crochet, beg–beginning, ch–chain, dc–double crochet, FPdc–front post double crochet, rep–repeat, st(s)–stitch(es), yo–yarn over

Special Stitches: Front Post Double Crochet (FPdc): Yo, insert your hook from front to back to front around the post of the next stitch, yo, pull up a loop, yo, pull through 2 of the loops on the hook, yo, pull through remaining 2 loops on your hook.

Back Post Double Crochet (BPdc): Yo, insert your hook from the back of the stitch to the front of the stitch around the post of the stitch, to the back of the stitch; yo and pull up a loop, yo and pull through 2 of the loops on the hook, yo, pull through the remaining 2 loops on hook.

Notes: Ch-3 does not count as a stitch

Instructions:

Make a magic circle

Rnd 1: Ch 3, 12 dc into the circle, join to beg dc. (12 dc)

Rnd 2: Ch 3: 2 dc in each st around, join to beg dc. (24 dc)

Rnd 3: Ch 3, *2 dc in the next st, dc in the next st; rep from * around, join to beg dc. (36 dc)

Rnd 4: Ch 3, *2 dc in the next st, dc in the next 2 sts; rep from * around, join to beg dc. (48 dc)

Rnd 5: Ch 3, *2 dc in the next st, dc in the next 5 sts; rep from * around, join to beg dc. (55 dc)

Rnd 6: Ch 3, dc in each st around, join to beg dc. (55 dc)

Rnds 7-13: Rep Rnd 6, (55 dc)

Rnd 14: Ch 3, *FPdc in the next st, BPdc in the next st; rep from * around, join to beg FPdc. (28 FPdc, 27 BPdc)

Rnd 15: Ch 3, * FPdc around the FPdc of Rnd 14, BPdc around the BPdc of Rnd 14; rep from * around, join to beg FPdc. (28 FPdc, 27 BPdc)

Fasten off and weave in ends.

Add a pompom to the top of beanie. (you can make your own pompom or purchase one online) After completing the beanie there should be enough yarn leftover to make a pompom.
