Notes
The ch-4 at the beginning of the first round counts as a stitch.
Pattern is written with color changes in every round.
Instructions:
Make a magic ring
Rd 1: Ch 4, sc in the ring, * ch 3, sc in the ring; Repeat from * 8 more times, join to 1st ch of beg ch-4, fasten off. (10 ch-3 sps, 10 sc)
Rd 2: Join yarn to any ch-3 sp, * sc in the same sp, ch 3, sc in the next ch 3 sp; Repeat from * around, join to beg sc, fasten off. (10 sc, 10 ch-3 sps)
Rd 3: Join yarn to any ch-3 sp, sc in the same sp, dc in the same sp as sc from rd 2, ch 2, * sc in the next ch-3 sp, dc in the same sp as sc from rd 2, ch 2; Repeat from * around, join to beg sc, fasten off. (10 sc, 10 dc, 10 ch-2 sps)
Rd 4: Join yarn to any ch-2 sp, sc in the same sp, ch 3, *sc in the next ch-2 sp, ch 3; Repeat from * around, join to beg sc, fasten off. (10 sc, 10 ch-3 sps)
Rd 5: Join yarn to the center of any sc (in the middle of the V of sc), sc in the same sp, ch 2, sc in the next ch-3 sp, ch 2, * sc in the center of the next sc (in the middle of the V of sc), ch 2, sc in the next ch-3 sp, ch 2; Repeat from * around, join to beg sc, fasten off. (20 sc, 20 ch-2 sps)
Note: After completing round 5, you can finish off the mandala with edging #1 or edging #2 (see instructions below)
Edging #1: Join yarn to any ch-2 sp, sc in the same sp, ch 2, * sc in the next ch-2 sp, ch 2; Repeat from * around, join to beg sc, fasten off. (20 sc, 20 ch-2 sps)
Edging #2: join yarn to any ch-2 sp, (sc, ch 2, sc) in the same sp, ch 1, * (sc, ch 2, sc) in the next ch-2 sp, ch 1; Repeat from * around, join to beg sc, fasten off. (20 ch-1 sps, 40 sc)
Weave in ends and block.
