Granny Circle

Wow, February came and went! Spring is on its way! The last pattern in the granny shape series is the Granny Circle. Like the granny square the granny circles can be used for may different projects, such as coasters, placements, bunting, mandalas, appliques and pillow covers. The nifty thing about granny circles are you can make them into a square, making a granny circle square. Working with granny shapes this month has been fun! And we can't forget the very popular granny heart, the pattern for granny hearts was posted on the blog last year, here is the link to the Granny Hearts pattern.

Here we go a skein, Fresh off the hook:

                                                          The Granny Circle

You can complete 4 rounds and add an edging to make a coaster or repeat rounds 3 and 4 a few more times to make a Mandala or a placemat.

For the month of February, I would like to introduce you to a great new yarn. All of the patterns for this month are made with Madlandia, Hue-Mongous 100% cotton dk size 3 yarn. As you can see from the photos this yarn has bright and beautiful colors. The yarn is easy to work with and is a great value for the money. You can check out the yarn at Madlandia. (note: I am not receiving anything for putting this yarn information on my blog, I like the yarn and just wanted to share it with you!)

Have a hooky day! Lynne

Rectangle Granny

The granny shape pattern for this week is a granny rectangle. Like the granny square you can use the granny rectangle to make to make all different types of garments, home decorations, bags, and purses. The granny rectangle motif works great for crochet blankets! Once you begin your rectangle, you can keep crocheting around the rectangle until it reaches placemat, table runner, or crochet blanket size. You can also make several smaller rectangles and join them together to give those projects a different look.

Here we go a skein, fresh off the hook:

                                       Rectangle Granny

These quick and easy rectangles are done with basic crochet stitches, so they are great for crocheters of all skill levels. Granny rectangles are great stash busters and you can mix and match colors to make them unique!

The center of this granny rectangle was done a little differently than the ones found on the internet. It has single granny clusters in the center and does not create a floral pattern in the center, just the granny pattern.
