Parquet Stitch Scarf

October is a month that we reintroduce scarves into our wardrobe. Many people will bring their scarves out of retirement or go out and purchase a new one, but why not add a scarf to your wardrobe by making a one? The first scarf for this month is called the parquet stitch scarf. I found the Parquet stitch in a  book called Basic Crochet Stitches By Erika Knight, which was printed in 2008. I fell in love with the simplicity of the stitch and the beautiful pattern it creates. When paired with certain yarns it creates a unique scarf.

Here we go a skein, fresh off the hook:

This project is great for crocheters of all skill levels since the stitches used are the single crochet, double crochet and the pattern is a two-row repeat pattern.

This pattern works great with variegated yarns such as the one in the photo above by Arcane Fibre Works. This is a Dk Yarn called Tip of the Iceberg.

And it works great with solid or tonal yarns like the one in the photo above from Stellar Needlecraft Solar DK yarn, the color used is called Ghoulish. It is hard to see in the picture but this yarn is Dark gray and light gray with tiny splashes of color throughout.

The great thing about this scarf is you can make it with or without fringe!

Everyday Wrap

It is October,! This is the month we really see the weather change. The days might still be a little warm, but the evenings are getting chilly. This is the time we begin to think about crochet for the colder weather! For the month of October, we will be featuring scarf and wrap patterns to keep you warm.

The first pattern this month is a crochet wrap pattern. This pattern started when my younger sister asked me to create a crochet wrap that was stylish and could be worn everyday. She wanted a pattern that was quick and easy to make so she could make them as gifts for the holidays.

Here we go a skein, Fresh off the hook:

                                          Everyday Wrap

The pattern was written using basic stitches to create an eye-catching wrap that can be worn day or night. This project is great for crocheters of all skill levels since the stitches used are the single crochet, double crochet and a reverse single crochet for the edging.

The Everyday Wrap was designed to be worn as a wrap or a long scarf.

If you love to be wrapped up in a cozy crochet comfort, this pattern is for you!

Thank you to my sister for modeling the Everyday Wrap!
