Gauge: Yarn gauge: 15 sts x 18 rows = 4” (10.16 cm)
Abbreviations and Stitches (U.S. Terms): ch – chain, dc – double crochet, rep – repeat, sk – skip, st(s) - stitch(s)
Notes: ch-3 counts as a stitch.
Instructions:
Ch 27
Row 1: 3 dc in the 6th ch from hook, *sk 2 sts, 3 dc in the next st; rep from * to the last 3 sts, sk 2 sts, dc in the last st, fasten off. (21 dc)
Now you
will be working around row 1
Rnd 1: Join yarn to the last sp made,
(ch 3, 2 dc, ch 2, 3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc), in the same sp, 3 dc in the next sp, and
in each sp to the end, (3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) in the end sp, turn, now
working down the other side, work 3 dc in the next sp and each sp to the end,
join to beg ch-3, fasten off. (54 dc, 4 ch-2 sps)
Rnd 2: With long side of granny rectangle
facing you, join yarn to the top right ch-2 sp, (ch 3, 2 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) in the
same sp, 3 dc in the next sp and each sp to the next ch-2 sp, (3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc)
in the next 2 ch-2 sps, now working down the other
side, 3 dc in the next sp and in each sp to the next ch-2 sp, (3 dc, ch 2, 3
dc) in the next ch-2 sp, join to beg ch-3, fasten off. (66 dc, 4 ch-2 sps)
Rnd 3: With long side of granny
rectangle facing you, join yarn to the top right ch-2 sp, (ch 3, 2 dc, ch 2, 3
dc) in the same sp, 3 dc in the next sp and each sp to the next ch-2 sp, (3 dc,
ch 2, 3 dc) in the next ch-2 sp, 3 dc in the next sp, (3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) in the
next ch-2 sp, now
working down the other side, 3 dc in the next sp and in each sp to the next
ch-2 sp, (3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) in the next ch-2 sp, 3 dc in the next sp, join to
beg ch-3, fasten off. (78 dc, 4 ch-2 sps)
Weave in
ends and for best results block.
Note: You can make the rectangle larger by rep Rnd 3 (and adding 3 dc to each sp between the corners)
