2 Skeins- Stellar Needlecraft Solar DK yarn, Color: Ghoulish (Dark gray,
light gray and splashes of color)
you can use any size 3 Dk yarn.
Size: 6” (15.24 cm) by 65” (165.1 cm) without fringe
Materials: US Size G/ 7 (4.5 mm) and H/8 (5 mm) crochet hooks, Yarn Needle, scissors, tape measure.
Difficulty: Easy
Stitch Guide: ch(s) - chain(s), sc- single
crochet, dc - double crochet, st(s) - stitch(es)
Special Stitches: Parquet
stitch: sc, ch 3, dc in the same st
Notes: The H/8 (5 mm) crochet hook is used for the chain row only. Chain 3 counts as a stitch. Scarf is done in multiples of 3 + 2, so if you would like a wider scarf you can add to the chain row………. Ch 25 is a 6” (15.24 cm) wide scarf and ch 35 is an 8” (20.32 cm) wide scarf. If you want to make the scarf longer, continue in the stitch pattern past 65” (165.1cm)
Instructions:
With the H/8 (5 mm) crochet hook ch 25
Row 1: Switch to the Size 7 (4.5 mm) crochet
hook sc in the 2nd ch from hook, ch 3, dc in the same st, * sk 2 chs,
(sc, ch 3, dc) in the next st; repeat from * across, ending with a sc in the
last st, turn. (9 sc, 8 ch-3 sps, 8 dc)
Row 2: Ch 3, dc in the first st, *(sc, ch 3, dc)
in the next ch 3 sp; repeat from * across to the last ch 3 sp, sc in the last
ch-3 sp, ch 2, dc in the last sc, turn. (1 ch-2 sp, 10 dc, 8 sc, 7 ch-3 sps)
Row 3: Ch 1, sc in the first st, ch 3, dc in the
ch-2 sp, *(sc, ch 3, dc) in the next ch-3 sp; repeat from * across, end with a
sc in the top of ch-3, turn. (9 sc, 8 ch-3 sps, 8 dc)
Repeat rows 2 and 3 until the scarf measures 65” (165.1cm) or desired length, make sure to end with
row 2.
Edging row: Ch 2, sc in the first ch sp, *ch 2, sc in the next ch sp; repeat from * across, ch 2, dc in the ch-3, fasten off, weave in ends.
Add fringe if desired.
