Hexa Bloom Granny

Yarn: Purl Soho, Cotton Chirp (size 3) dk yarn or any size 3 cotton dk yarn

Materials: US Size F/5 (3.75 mm) crochet hook, yarn needle, scissors, tape measure

Difficulty: Easy

Size: 4 ½” (11.43 cm) x 4 ½” (11.43 cm)

Gauge: 23 sts per inch

Abbreviations and Stitches (U.S. Terms): beg – beginning, ch – chain, dc – double crochet, rep – repeat, sc – single crochet, sl st – slip stitch, sk – skip, sp(s) – space(s), st(s) – stitch(es)

Notes: beg ch-3 counts as a stitch

Instructions:

Make a magic circle

Rnd 1: Ch 3 (counts as dc), 11 dc into circle, join to top of ch-3, fasten off. (12 dc)

Rnd 2: Join yarn to any st, (sc, ch 3, sc) in the same st as join and in each st around, join to beg sc. (12 ch-3 sps, 24 sc)

Rnd 3: Sl st into first ch-3 sp, (ch 3, 2 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) in same sp, skip the next ch-3 sp, *(3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) in the next sp, sk the next ch-3 sp; rep from * around, join to beg ch-3. (36 dc, 6 ch-2 sps)

Rnd 4: Sl st to ch-2 space, ch 3, dc in ch-3 sp from rnd 2, ch 3, *sc in next ch-1 sp, ch 3, dc in ch-3 sp from rnd 2, ch 3; rep from * around, join to beg ch-3. fasten off. (12 ch-3 sps, 6 dc, 6 sc)

Rnd 5: Join a new yarn to any ch-3 sp, (ch 3, 2 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) in same sp as join, (dc, 2 hdc) in the next ch-3 sp, (2 hdc, dc) in the next ch-3 sp, *(3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) in the next ch-3 sp, (dc, 2 hdc) in the next ch-3 sp, (2 hdc, dc) in the next ch-3 sp; rep from * around, join to beg ch-3. (32 dc, 16 hdc, 4 ch-2 sps)

Rnd 6: Sc in same sp as join and in the next 2 sts, *(2 sc, ch 1, 2 sc) in the corner ch-2 sp, sc in each st to the next corner; rep from * around, join to beg sc, fasten off.
