Bar Stitch Scarf

Yarn: 2 skeins- Wool2Dye4- Cash DK MCN #40874, 231 yards/100 gr per skein (this is undyed yarn so this is the natural color)

Materials: US Size J-10 (6 mm) crochet hook, yarn needle, scissors, tape measure.


Difficulty: Beginner


Size: Finished size - 62 in (157 cm) x 6 3/4 in (17 cm)


Gauge: 18 sc and 20 rows = 4” (10 cm)


Stitch Guide: ch(s) - chain(s), dc-double crochet, st(s)-stitch(s), sl st-slip stitch, sc-single crochet, FPdc-front post double crochet


Special stitches: Front Post Double Crochet (FPdc): Yo, insert your hook from front to back to front around the post of the next stitch, yo, pull up a loop, yo, pull thru 2 loops on your hook, yo, pull thru remaining two loops on your hook.


Notes: Ch-1 does not count as a stitch.


Instructions:

Chain 26

Row 1: sc in the 2nd chain from hook and in each chain across. ch1 and turn. (25 sc)

Row 2: sc in each st until the end of the row, ch 1 and turn. (25 sc)

Row 3: repeat row 2. (25 sc)

Row 4: sc in the first st,  FPdc in 2nd sc in the 2nd st of row 2, sc in the next stitch, * FPdc in the next stitch of row 2, sc in the next stitch; repeat from * across ending with sc in the last sc. ch 1 and turn. (13 sc, 12 FPdc)

Row 5: sc in each st across, ch 1 and turn. (25 sc)

Row 6: sc in the first st, *FPdc around the stem of the next FPdc 2 rows below, sc in the next st; repeat from * across, ending with sc in the last sc, ch 1, turn. (13 sc, 12 FPdc)

Row 7: sc in each st across, ch1 and turn. (25 sc)


Rep Rows: 6 and 7, until your scarf is the desired length.


Last row: sc in each st across. (25 sc)


Fasten off.

Weave in ends and block.
