*The beanie is crocheted in the round so you do not need to join rounds for this pattern or chain 1 at the beginning of each round, simply crochet in continuous rounds. (I put a stitch marker in the first st of each rnd, so I know where to begin and end)

Instructions:

Make a magic circle

Rnd 1: Ch 1, dc into the circle, (place a stitch marker in this first stitch), 11 Ldc into the circle, (do not join* see notes). (1 dc, 11 Ldc)

Note: make sure to move your stitch marker up with each rnd.

Rnd 2: 2 Ldc in each st around. (24 Ldc)

Rnd 3: *2 Ldc in the next st, Ldc in the next st; rep from * around. (36 Ldc)

Rnd 4: *2 Ldc in the next st, Ldc in the next 2 sts; rep from * around. (48 Ldc)

Rnd 5: *2 Ldc in the next st, Ldc in the next 5 sts; rep from * around. (56 dc)

Rnd 6: Ldc in each st around. (56 Ldc)

Rnds 7-17*: Rep Rnd 6. (56 Ldc)

*After Rnd 17 join to beg Ldc and continue to beanie edging

Beanie Edging:

Rnd 18: Ch 1, twsc or rsc into each stitch around join to beg twsc or rsc, fasten off and weave in ends.

You can add a pompom to the top of beanie, (make your own pompom or purchase one online). After completing the beanie there should be enough yarn leftover to make a pompom. The beanie in the photo has a purchased snap in pompom.
