Rainbow Table Runner

Yarn: Stylecraft Cotton Dk Classique, 50 g skeins, 12 colors were used to make the table runner. *Stylecraft has rebranded this yarn as Naturals Organic Cotton. Any cotton Dk yarn will work.                    

Materials: US Size H (5 mm) crochet hook, yarn needle, scissors                      

Difficulty: Easy                                     

Size: 20” (50.8 cm) wide by 74” (188 cm) long                                                  

Stitch Guide: ch(s) - chain(s), sc- single crochet, hdc- half double crochet, dc - double crochet, st(s) - stitch(es)

Notes: Color changes were not noted in the pattern as to leave the creativity up to you. If you are making color changes make sure to weave in the ends as you go.

Instructions: With H (5 mm) crochet hook and chain 245

Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook, * ch 5, sk 3 chs, sc in next ch; repeat from * across, ch 5, turn. (61 ch-5 sps, 62 sc)

Row 2: Sc in the ch-5 sp, ch 5, sc in the next ch-5 sp, (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in the next sc, sc in the next ch-5 sp, * (ch 5, sc in the next ch-5 sp) 3 times, (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in the next sc, sc in the next ch-5 sp; repeat from * across, sc in the 3rd  ch of beg ch-5, ch 5, turn.  (46 ch-5 sps, 62 sc, 15 ch-1 sps, 60 dc)

Row 3: Sc in the next ch-5 sp, ch 5, sc in the next ch-5 sp, ch 5, sc in the next ch-1 sp (at the top of fan, * (ch 5, sc in the next ch-5 sp) 3 times, ch 5, sc in the ch-1 sp; repeat from * across to the last ch-5 sp, ch 5, sc in the ch-5 sp, sc in the 3rd ch of beg ch-5, ch 5, turn. (61 ch-5 sps, 61 sc).

Repeat rows 2 and 3 until the table runner is the desired width. Make sure to end with row 3. Rows 2-3 were repeated 22 times to make the table runner 20” (50.8 cm) wide. Do not fasten off.

Last row: (Ch 3, sc in the next ch-5 sp) 2 times, ch 3 sc in the next c-1 sp, * (ch 3, sc in the next ch 5 sp) 3 times, ch 3 sc in the next ch-1 sp; repeat from * across, fasten off, weave in ends.

Edging and Fringe   

Note: Edging is worked around the table runner

Rnd 1: Join yarn with a sl st to the last ch-3 sp made, sc in the same sp, * ch 4, sc in the next sc; repeat from * across to the corner ch-4 sp, ch 4, (sc, ch 2, sc) in the corner sp, ch 2, turn, working down the side, sc in the next sp, * ch 2, sc in the next sp; repeat from * across to the next corner sp, ch 4, (sc, ch 2, sc) in the corner sp, ch 4, turn, working down the side, *sc in the next st, ch 4; repeat from * across to the next corner sp, (sc, ch 2, sc) in the corner sp, ch 2, turn working down the side, * sc in the next sp, ch 2; repeat from * to the corner sp, sc in corner sp, ch 2, join to beg sc, fasten off and weave in ends.

Add fringe on both ends.
