Basket of Scrubbies

Face Scrubbies Yarn:

CEWEC/CPH recycled jeans yarn,  2-50gm skeins per set (5 scrubbies and a basket), colors used #28, #33, #34

Tools:

US Size G-6 (4mm) crochet hook, 

yarn needle, scissors, measuring tape

Difficulty:

Easy

Finished Size:

3-½ “ (8.89 cm)

Stitch Guide:

Ch(s) - chain(s), sc - single crochet, dc- double crochet, hdc- half double crochet, st(s)– stitch(s),

Special Stitches:

Dc3tog (dc cluster)- yarn over and insert hook in the next st, yarn over and pull up a loop, yarn over and pull through 2 loops, repeat 2 more times, yarn over and pull through the 4 remaining loops on the hook.

Notes:

Two strands of yarn were held together.

Instructions:

Holding 2 strands of yarn together, make a magic ring (magic circle)

Rd 1: Ch 2, 7 hdc in the circle, join to beginning ch-2. (8 hdc)

Rd 2: Ch 3, dc2 tog in same st as join, ch 1, *dc3tog in the next st, ch 1; Repeat from * around, join to beg ch-3. (8 dc3tog, 8 ch-1 sps)

Rd 3: Ch1, * sc in the top of the dc3tog, 2 sc in the ch-1 sp; Repeat from * around, join. (24 sc)

Rd 4: Ch 2, hdc in each st around, join. (24 hdc)

Rd 5: Ch 1, * sc, 2hdc, sc, in the next st, skip next st; Repeat from * around, join.  (12 sc, 2 hdc, sc groups) Fasten off

Finishing:

Weave in the ends and steam block with the iron, use cotton setting.

Note: Face scrubbies can be washed in the washer on cold setting in a garment bag and left out to air dry.

4” (10 cm)  around by 1-¾ “ (4.5 cm) high

Stitch Guide:

Ch(s) - chain(s), hdc- half double crochet, sc-single crochet, st(s)– stitch(s),

Special Stitches: 

Hdc2tog-(yarn over, insert hook in next stitch, yarn over and pull up loop) 2 times, yarn over and draw through all loops on hook.1 stitch decreased.

Notes:

The basket is made holding 3 strands of yarn together

Ch-2 counts as a stitch

Instructions:

Holding 3 strands of yarn together, make a magic ring (magic circle)

Rd 1: Ch 2, 9 hdc in the circle, join to beg ch-2. (10 hdc)

Rd 2: Ch 2, 1 hdc in the same sp as join, 2 hdc in each st around, join to beg ch-2. (20 hdc)

Rd 3: Ch 2, 2 hdc in the next st, *hdc in the next st, 2 hdc in the next st; Repeat from * around, join to beg ch-2. (30 hdc)

Rd 4:Ch 2, 2 hdc in the next st, *hdc in the next 2 sts, 2 hdc in the next st; Repeat from * around, join to beg ch-2. (40 hdc)

Rd 5: Ch 2, hdc in each st around, join. (40 hdc)

Rd 6: Repeat round 5

Rd7: Ch 2, * hdc in the next 8 sts, Hdc2tog; Repeat from * around, join. (36 hdc)

Rd 8: Ch 1, reverse sc around, join.  Fasten off  (36 reverse sc)

Finishing:

Weave in ends
