Materials:
G (4mm) and D (3.25 mm), scissors, yarn needle, stitch markers, button for closure and any other decorations you choose.

4" (10 cm) by 3 3/4" (9.5 cm) not including closure flap
Stitch Guide: ch(s) - chain(s), sc- single crochet, st - stitch(es)
Special Stitches:
Puff stitch- *yo, insert hook into stitch indicated and pull up a loop,* repeat from * to* two more times, yo and pull through all 7 loops on the hook, ch1 to close the stitch
Sc2tog or Sc dec- Insert hook into the indicated stitch. Yarn over and pull up a loop. (2 loops on the hook.) Insert hook into the next stitch. Yarn over and pull up a loop. (3 loops on the hook.)Yarn over, pull through all 3 loops on the hook. decrease made.
Waistcoat stitch (Knit Stitch)- a single crochet with a twist, these tutorials do a great job explaining the stitch. You can check out the videos Here and Here. (I put up links to crochet tutorials since there is no reason to reinvent the wheel!)
Notes about pattern:
This pattern is written in U.S. terms Ch-1 does not count as a stitch
Instructions: (make one)
Using a G (4mm) hook ch 19
Row 1: Sc in the 3rd chain from the hook and in each ch across, ch 1 turn, (17 sts)
Row 2-41:Waistcoat sc in each st across, ch 1, turn. (17 sts)
Row 42: Sc2tog, waistcoat sc in the next 13 sts, sc2tog (15 sts)
Row 43: Sc2tog, waistcoat sc in the next 11 sts, sc2tog (13 sts)
Row 44: Sc2tog, waistcoat sc in the next 9 sts, sc2tog (11 sts)
Row 45: Sc2tog, waistcoat sc in the next 7 sts, sc2tog (9 sts)
Row 46: Sc2tog, waistcoat sc in the next 5 sts, sc2tog (7 sts)
Row 47: Sc2tog, waistcoat sc in the next 3 sts, sc2tog (5 sts)
Row 48: Sc2tog, waistcoat sc in the next st, sc2tog (3 sts)
Row 49: Sc2tog, (1 st) end off, weave in ends
Stitch together purse: bring the bottom or beginning row up to row 33, secure with stitch markers, using the same color yarn sew sides together, turn to the right side.
Top Edging and loop closure:
Join yarn on the top or flap (side with the decreases) starting with row 33 (the row where the bottom was folded to):
Crochet 15 sc evenly along the side of decrease rows to the point:
Sc, ch 6, sc in the point, 15 sc down the other side of the decreased side, end off, weave in ends:
The Final Touches:
Add some stitches around the top/flap and sew on the button
Flower: (make 1-2)
Make a magic circle
Using the D (3.25mm) crochet hook
Rd 1: Ch 1(counts as a stitch), 9 sc in the circle, join, end off (10 sts)
Rd 2: Join yarn in any sc stitch, Puff st in the same st as join, *ss in the next st, puff st in the next st; repeat from * around, join to beg st, fasten off, weave in ends. (5 puff sts, 5 ss)
