V-Stitch Scarf

Yarn:
2 skeins of Madeline Tosh-Tosh DK yarn, 100% superwash merino wool, 225 yds/ 205 m. Color used: Cardigan. This is a size #3 dk yarn.

Materials: US Size H/8 (5 mm) and I/9 (5.5 mm) crochet hooks, Yarn Needle, scissors, tape measure

Difficulty: Easy

Size: 7½” (19.05 cm) x 70” (177.8 cm)

Gauge: 15 dc sts x 10 rows = 4” (10.16 cm)

Abbreviations and Stitches (U.S. Terms): ch – chain, dc – double crochet, rep – repeat, sk – skip, st(s) – stitch(es)

Notes: Ch-3 counts as a double crochet (dc) stitch

Instructions:

With I/9 (5.5 mm) crochet hook chain 26

Row 1: Switch to H/8 (5 mm) crochet hook, 2 dc (V st) in the 4th ch from hook, *sk next ch, 2 dc in the next ch; rep from * to the last 2 chs, sk 1 ch, dc in the last ch, ch 3, turn. (24 dc or 11 V sts and 2 dc)

Row 2: * sk 2 sts, 2 dc in the center of the V st from previous round (between the 2 dc); rep from * across to the last 2 sts, sk 1 st, dc in the top of beg ch-3, turn. (24 dc or 11 V sts and 2 dc)

Repeat row 2 until the scarf reaches the desired length.

Fasten off and weave in ends.
