Double V Baby Blanket

Yarn Deramores Studio anti-pilling chunky weight yarn (3.5oz/8=yds/100gm/80m): 6 skeins of Pearl (A) and Deramores Vintage Chunky (3.5 oz/153 yds/100gm/140m): 2 skeins of Mulberry (B) (yarn color used in tutorial is Sage) or any Chunky/Bulky yarn.

Materials US Size O/17 (12 mm) crochet hook, measuring tape, yarn needle, and scissors.

Size

Finished size: 38” X 35” (96.5cm X 89cm)


Gauge

10 sc and 10 rows = 4”  (10 cm)


Stitch Guide

ch(s) - chain(s),  sc – single crochet,  dc - double crochet,  st(s) - stitch(es),  RS - right side


Notes

The ch-3 at the beginning of each row counts as a stitch.

Edging is worked around the blanket


Instructions

With A, ch 62

Row 1 (RS):  2 dc in the 4th chain from hook, * skip 1 ch, 2 dc in the next ch; repeat from * to the last 2 chs, skip 1 ch, 1 dc in the last ch, turn— 60 dc

Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as dc), skip 2 sts, * 2 dc in the center of the 2 dc or V;repeat from * to the last 2 sts skip 1 st, dc in the top of beginning ch 3, turn— 60 dc



Row 3-38:  Repeat row 2 until you have completed 38 rows, fasten off, weave in
ends— 60 dc


Finishing

Note: Edging is worked around the blanket

Round1: Using 2 strands of B, join yarn in any space between the double crochet V st, *ch 1, sc in the space between the double crochet V st ; repeat from * to the corner, (sc, ch 1,sc ) in the corner space, **ch 1, sc in the next space; Repeat from ** to the next corner, (sc, ch 1, sc) in the corner sp: continue around the blanket, join to beginning sc.





Round 2: Sc in the same st as join, ch 1, *sc in the next ch-1 sp, ch 1, to the corner, (sc, ch 1, sc) in the corner ch-1 sp; Repeat from * around, join to beginning sc.




Round 3-5: Repeat round 2, fasten off, weave in ends
