Yarn: Knit Picks, Vividie, worsted weight (size 4) cotton yarn, colors used N3136 Swan, N3145 Silver, N3136 Pomegranate.Materials: US Size G/6 (4 mm) crochet hook, yarn needle, scissors, tape measure
Difficulty: Easy
Size: 4½ inches (11.43 cm) across
Gauge: 14-16 sc = 4 inches (10.14 cm)
Abbreviations
and Stitches (U.S. Terms):
beg – beginning, ch – chain, dc – double crochet, hdc – half double crochet,
rep – repeat, sc – single crochet, sk – skip, sl st – slip stitch, st(s) –
stitch(es)
Special
Stitches: fpdc
(front post double crochet): yarn over, insert hook around post from front to
back to front, complete dc.
Notes: Ch-3 counts as a stitch, color changes are built into the pattern, but feel free to make them your own creation!
Instructions:
Make a
magic ring
Rnd 1: Ch 3, 11 dc into the ring, join
with sl st to the top of beg ch-3, fasten off. (12 dc)
Rnd 2: Join a new yarn to any st, ch 3,
dc in same st as join, 2 dc in each st around, join to beg ch-3, fasten off.
(24 dc)
Rnd 3: Join a new yarn to any st, ch 3, 2
dc in the next st, *dc in the next st, 2 dc in the next st; rep from * around,
join to beg ch-3, fasten off. (36 dc)
Rnd 4: Join a new yarn to the first st in
the 2-dc group from rnd 3, ch 2, hdc in the next st, fpdc around the next st
(this should be around the single st), *hdc in the next 2 sts, fpdc around the
next st; rep from * around, fasten off. (24 dc, 12 fpdc)
Rnd 5: Join a new yarn to any st, ch 1,
sc in each st around, fasten off. (36 sc)
Rnd 6: Join a new yarn to any st, (sc, ch
2, sc) in same st as join, sk the next st, *(sc, ch 2, sc) in the next st, sk
the next st; rep from * around, join to beg sc, fasten off.
Weave in ends and for best results block.
