Granny Stripe Baby Blanket

Wow, it is that time of year! It is time to change the clocks in the U.S. Sunday, March 10th is the day to spring forward, giving us an extra hour of daylight and more time to crochet! I can always use more time to crochet!

The second pattern for Granny Square month is not a Granny square but is in the granny square family, it is a granny stripe pattern. This classic pattern is easy to make, works up quickly, and the color combinations are endless! Like granny squares the granny stripe pattern is not just for blankets, this pattern can be used to make, dishcloths, pillows, table runners, tote bags, clothing and more.

Here we go a skein, fresh off the hook:

                            The Granny Stripe Baby Blanket

Unlike the granny square, this pattern is worked in rows and the color changes are completely up to you. For this blanket I used a Mandala yarn (this is yarn with built in color changes), but just imagine how this blanket would look using a different color for each row!

It is great to have an extra hour of sunlight, but no matter the hour, it is always Crochet O'clock

Have a hooky day! Lynne
