Colorful Granny Chain

Since Granny Square day has passed and we are keeping with the granny square theme for the month of August, I decided to make something that I have been wanting to make for months but never found the right time or reason to make it! Although this project is not made from a traditional Granny square, it is still in the Granny category. This project is made with Granny Rectangles!

Here we go a skein, fresh off the hook:

                                     Colorful Granny Chain

These granny rectangles are quick and easy to make since they are done with basic crochet stitches, making them great for crocheters of all skill levels. Granny rectangles are great stash busters and you can mix and match colors to make them unique! And putting them together in a chain, goes quickly!

This Colorful Granny Chain is fashioned after the paper chains many of us made as children, but this grown-up version is made with yarn! These colorful chains make great decorations for parties or to add a splash of color around the house. Just think about how they would look done in holiday colors around the tree or on the mantel.

I hung my Granny Chain on the tree in my backyard and like how it adds color to the yard! These would work great for a yarn bombing project!
