Solid Granny Coaster

The end of April is nearing and before we know it will be summer! This has been a fun crochet month, trying to add color to everything I crochet. In my quest to add color to my life in the month of April, I decided for the last week to use yarn colors that I rarely use alone. My rarely used colors are pink and orange, which are always used in crochet projects that call for many different colors. It is not that I do not like pink and orange, they are just not my go to colors for crochet projects. This pink and orange project is a set of coasters done in a monochromatic color scheme, one set in pink and one set in orange.

Here we go a skein fresh off the hook:

This quick and easy pattern uses two basic crochet stitches, the chain stitch and the double crochet stitch, making it great for crocheters of all skill levels. And it makes a cool cross or X pattern, depending how you look at it!

I wanted to do something a little different with these coasters, so they were done in a monochromatic color scheme (fancy word for variations of one color). Using this color scheme takes the guess work out of which colors go together, as the colors within a monochromatic color scheme are designed to work together.
