Stitch Guide:
ch(s) - chain(s), sc- single crochet, dc-double crochet, st(s)-stitch(s), sl st-slip stitch, Puff-Puff stitch
Special Stitches:
Puff Stitch
Yarn over and insert the hook into the stitch where you are creating your puff stitch. Yarn over again and draw through. There will be three loops on the hook. Repeat two more times. Each time adds 2 more loops to the hook. There will be 7 loops on the hook, Yarn over and pull through all loops on the hook.

Round 1 (RS): Ch 1 (counts as a st), 9 sc in the ring, join to beginning ch-1, fasten off. — 10 sc
Round 2: Join yarn with a sl st to any sc, puff in the same stitch as join, ch 1, *puff in the next sc, ch 1; Repeat from * around, join to beg puff, fasten off. — 10 Puff sts, 10 ch-1 sps.
Round 3: Join yarn with a sl st in the top of any puff st, puff in the same space as join, ch 2, *puff in the top of the next puff st, ch 2; repeat, from * around, join to beg puff, fasten off. — 10 pc sts, 10 ch-2 sps.
Round 4: Join yarn with a sl st in any ch-2 space, (puff, ch 2, puff) in the same sp, ch 2, *(puff, ch 2, puff) in the next ch-2 space, ch 2; Repeat from * around, join to beg puff, fasten off. — 20 puff sts, 20 ch-2 sps.
Round 5: Join yarn with sl st in the ch-2 space between 2 puff sts, (puff, ch 2, puff), in the same space as join, ch 1, puff in the next ch-2 space, ch 1, *(puff, ch-2, puff) in the next ch-2 space, ch 1, puff in the next ch-2 space, ch 1; Repeat from * around, join to beg puff, fasten off, — 30 puff sts,10 ch-2 sps, 20 ch-1 sps.
Round 6: (edging) Join yarn with sl st in the ch-2 space between 2 puff sts, 3 sc in the same sp, (sc in the next ch-1 sp) 2 times, * 3 sc in the next ch-2 sp, (sc in the next ch-1 sp) 2 times; repeat from * around, join to beg sc, fasten off.
Weave in ends and block
Note: blocking your coasters helps to maintain their shape.
