D60 Square Crochet Coaster

Yarn: Cotton dk yarn

Materials:

US Size 7 (4.50 mm) crochet hook (used for beginning chain only) and US Size G-6 (4 mm), yarn needle, scissors,

Difficulty:

Beginner

Size:

Finished size - 4 ½” (114.3 cm) X 4 ½ “(114.3 cm)

Gauge:

18 sc and 20 rows = 4”

Stitch Guide:

ch(s) - chain(s), dc-double crochet, st(s)-stitch(s), sl st-slip stitch, 

Notes: 

Ch-3 counts as a stitch.

Instructions:

With size 7 (4.5 mm) crochet hook chain 20

Row 1: (using G-6 (4mm) crochet hook), dc in the 4th ch from hook and in each ch across, ch 1, turn. (18 dc)

Row 2: *1 dc in the first st, sl st, in the next st; repeat from * ending with sl st in the top of beginning ch-3, ch 3, turn. (9 sl sts, 9 dc)

Row 3: * 1 dc in the next dc, 1 dc in the next sl st; repeat from * across, ch 1, turn. (18dc)

Repeat rows 2 and 3 until the coaster measures 4 ½ inches, (make sure to end with row 3)

Finish off.

Weave in ends and block
