Granny Square Pocket Scarf

Have you ever seen an advertisement for something and thought, wow, I would like to try that? I was looking on Facebook and an advertisement came up for Red Heart "All In One Granny Square Yarn", I thought wow! that would be cool no more color changes and weaving in multiple ends. I watched a few YouTube videos on how to make Granny Squares using the Granny Square yarn. To my surprise, in most of the videos the crocheters were a little discouraged with the yarn at the beginning, but then after making a few squares they got the hang of it. I am always up for a challenge so I bought a few skeins.

It was as the other crocheters stated in their videos, a little challenging to get the yarn to end at the exact spot to start the next row, but after plenty of frogging (ripping out) and changes in tension, I was able to do it! So here is the project  made with the first set of squares using the Granny Square yarn.

Here we go a skein, fresh off the hook:

                                Granny Square Pocket Scarf

This easy to make pocket scarf has 10-6”(15.24 cm) x 6”(15.24cm) granny squares and 2-6”(15.24 cm) x 6”(15.24cm) solid squares. The solid squares are joined with additional Granny Squares to form pockets at either end of the scarf. The pockets are great to hold small items such as lip balm, mini tissue, a house key etc...........

Would I use this Granny Square yarn again? Yes, I would, I love the color combinations of the yarn and once you figure it out it is pretty easy! I am hoping they make it in a Dk or sport weight yarn.

Have a hooky day! Lynne
