Granny Stripe Shoulder Bag

Hello to all,

As we continue with Granny Accessory month, this week we are going to focus on something that is fashionable and functional; handbags, purses, bags, totes, whatever we call them, they are something we all use. We need something to throw our necessary items into for that next event. They come in all shapes and sizes and are made of many different materials, but crochet bags have been a beloved accessory for years, and for good reason. According to Charitable Hooker, Crochet bags "are versatile, stylish, and durable, making them a great option for anyone in need of a new bag. They are eco-friendly, and an environmentally conscious choice." And have become so popular for Spring and Summer that purse manufactures are selling them.

Crochet bags are really easy to make, and you can make them unique by adding your own creativity and flair to them. So instead of spending a lot of money on one, why not crochet your own?

Here we go a skein, fresh off the hook:

                                Granny Stripe Shoulder Bag

This easy granny striped bag is done using colorful cotton yarn and is a great scrap yarn project! The pattern uses the classic granny striped stitch in the round, so there are no seams to deal with. (unless you add a lining to your bag).

This pattern can be adjusted since the granny stripe pattern is done in multiples of three and the strap length is up to you! You can use the bag as is, or you can add a lining to the bag which will make it sturdier. And don't forget to add your sew in magnetic snap closure.

Grab that crochet hook and yarn and lets crochet that new bag!

Have a hooky day! Lynne
