Scrapghan Update #2

Hello, and welcome to the last few days of March 2024 and Happy Easter to all those who celebrate!

I decided to include a Scrapghan update here since it is made with granny squares and fits in with granny square month. This on going project was started in September 2023 as a way to use up the scrap yarn I have been collecting over the years. I love this project since it allows me to use up my scrap yarn and to be creative by mixing yarn colors I never thought would work together! So far so good!

To date, I have been able to make 75 -3 1/2" (8.9 cm), using the 4-row Framed Granny Square pattern and have put together 54 squares into a colorful Scrapghan that is about 26" (66 cm) x 29" (73.6 cm). This is just the beginning since I have only used half of my scrap yarn and will be making more granny squares and adding a border.

As noted in my previous Scrapghan blog post, the squares were joined together using the invisible join method. This method creates a flat seam that is not visible, making the squares look like they are seamlessly connected. B. Hooked Crochet has a great video explaining the invisible join method.

You can read about the beginning of this project: "Scrapghan-Travel Project" posted on September 28, 2023 and read about my progress in "Scrapghan Update" posted on December 29,2023.

After the Scrapghan is complete, I will post the free pattern which will include instructions for the border, so stay tuned for updates.

Have a hooky day! Lynne
