Granny Hearts

Happy first week of Spring! I hope the weather is warming up wherever you may be!

For the past few weeks we have been have been working with granny squares and granny stripes, making a table runner, a baby blanket, and a colorful spring blanket. This week we combine a granny square and a heart to make colorful heart motifs. The Granny Heart is easy to make, works up quickly, and is fun to do! It starts with the classic granny square for the first few rounds and then we work the heart magic turning the square into a heart!

Here we go a skein, fresh off the hook:

There are many uses for Granny Hearts! They can be used as as appliques to brighten up a jacket, skirt, or backpack. You can use them to make a garland or bunting, as an ornament, a coaster or simply give them to someone you love!

The pattern includes instructions to make a garland (bunting) and attaching a string or ribbon to make an ornament.

or you can make Heart Coasters!

Share the love with family, friends, and co-workers by hooking up some of these colorful Granny Hearts!

Have a hooky day! Lynne
