African Flower Ornament

I can't believe it is already the end of July! For me the month of July seems to fly by! The last pattern in our add a little holiday magic to your summer month, is an ornament made with the popular African Flower crochet pattern. These ornaments are great to use as decorations on a tree or strung together in a garland/ bunting since they are double-sided, each side looks the same. And did I forget to say they make great gifts too?

These African Flower ornaments can be made into coasters, just eliminate the hanger, and Ta-dah a double-sided coaster!

Here we go a skein, fresh off the hook:

These cute flower ornaments are great for crocheters of all skill level since they are made with basic crochet stitches and include one special stitch a spike single crochet. 

The cool thing about African flowers is that you can make them in all color schemes. They look great in Holiday colors and someone's favorite colors. I made the black, gray, and white one (see photo below), thinking of my sister and her black Christmas tree. 

And the purple ornament for my granddaughter who just loves the color purple.

Holiday Star Coasters

It is Mid-July and this month we are adding some holiday magic to the summer!  So lets continue to add a little holiday magic with Stars! They are one of the most loved holiday decorations and an awesome tree topper for your Christmas tree. Stars can be used for many different holidays or occasions, they are popular as Christmas and 4th of July decorations however they can be used for birthdays, baby showers, graduations, and awards ceremonies. And there are many people who have star collections.

These quick and easy star coasters were done in 5 rounds with basic crochet stitches, including single crochet, half double crochet, double crochet and a few treble crochet stitches. 

You can make these coasters in holiday colors, make them to match your party theme, or crochet a bunch for everyday use.

Star coasters are great since they add festive cheer to your home all year around!
