Since Granny Square day is on the 15th, I decided to post this today instead of the normal Friday posting, in case someone wanted to make this square for granny square day! This granny square is a little different and I selected it because it reminds me of my older sister who is a longtime quilter and has a blog about quilting called Kerry's Quilting! This weeks granny square design is inspired by the nine patch quilt design.
When you Google the term nine patch, you end up with many sites about making quilting blocks and nine patch quilts. The nine patch quilt block has been around since the 1800's and was one of the the first quilt patterns that young girls were taught. This crochet granny square is for those crocheters who love the look of quilts!
So here we go a skein, fresh off the hook:
This nine patch square is made with nine mini granny squares, which resembles the nine patch quilt block.
Have a hooky day! Lynne
Love it! A nine patch with granny squares, so creative.
