Kaleidoscope Mandala

Hello and Happy Friday!

The Mandala for this week is called the Kaleidoscope Mandala, it is patterned after the beautiful colors and designs found in a Kaleidoscope. What exactly is a Kaleidoscope? According to https://www.camera-obscura.co.uk/article/a-brief-history-of-kaleidoscopes, they are "amazing optical instruments that show a myriad of beautiful colors and patterns which are pleasing to the eye and mind".

I remember as a kid, having a kaleidoscope and looking through it, I was always  amazed at the colorful patterns it produced. It was cool seeing how the colors and shapes changed with just a slight turn. In remembrance of times past, I joined different stitches and different yarn colors together for this weeks Mandala.

Here we go a skein:

                                  The Kaleidoscope Mandala

This is an easy pattern that looks complicated but it uses basic crochet stitches, each mandala uses five different colors of yarn to give it the
Kaleidoscope effect.

This bright color Mandala, was done in Stylecraft Classique Cotton DK yarn, #3662 sunflower, #3673 Lavender, #3672 Poppy, #3671 Azure, and #3670 Saville.

The pastel color Mandala, was done in Stylecraft Classique Cotton DK yarn, #3668 Hot Pink, #3666 Shell Pink, #3673 Lavender, #3663 Soft Lime, and #3664 Wisteria.

*Stylecraft has rebranded this yarn as Naturals organic cotton.

Coming up next week will be a mini Mandala, until then..........

Have a hooky day! Lynne
