Where has September gone? I cant believe there are only a few days of September left. The final accessory for the month of September is a handy little bag you wear on your wrist. This bag is known as a Japanese knot bag. What is a Japanese knot bag you say? Well according to the website Gathered, "A Japanese knot bag is an open tote bag with one handle longer than the other. It's designed so that you can put the long handle through the short one to close the top of the bag. You can then hook the bag over your wrist so that you can carry it easily."
Here we go a skein, fresh off the hook:
Our Japanese knot bag was created using simple crochet stitches and is quick and easy to make, with is repeating single crochet and double crochet fan stitch pattern. The beautiful stitch pattern makes it the perfect bag for the bride to hold on her wrist at the wedding, especially during the money dance.
This bag is large enough to carry your cell phone, keys, and other small items. It works great to hold your small crochet projects and crochet hooks. When I was at the Dallas Fort Worth Fiber Fest last weekend, I saw many knitters and crocheters using a Japanese knot bag to hold a their skein of yarn, while standing or walking around working on their projects!
This great little bag has many uses and would make a great gift!
Next month Fall will be in full swing! So we will be posting some new scarf and crochet wrap patterns!
Have a hooky day! Lynne
