Ribbed Edge Beanie

Last week I introduced you to the Anytime Beanie, a light weight beanie that can be worn year around. Today, I would like to introduce to a beanie that would be perfect for the fall and winter months. It is a classic look beanie that sometimes is mistaken for a knitted beanie, due to the ribbed edging. This top down beanie pattern uses sc and hdc stitches, making it great for crocheters of all skill levels. Grab your worsted weight (size 4) yarn and crochet hooks and lets make this classic beanie!

Here we go a skein Fresh off the hook:

Although many people think this type of beanie looks best in gray or dk blue, it can be done in any color of yarn. You can use solid, variegated, heathered, hand-dyed or semi-solid yarn.

The gray beanie above, was done in a solid color yarn and the gold beanie below,  was done in a hand-dyed yarn giving it a beautiful color variation.

I hope you enjoy this pattern!

Since the holidays are right around the corner and we all need those last minutes gifts, look for some quick and easy gift ideas in December.

Have a hooky day! Lynne
